Objectives
- Review several types of calculators and a popular software for scientific calculations -- Maple.
- Develop some basic skills with a word processor, a spreadsheet program, and a graphics processor.
- Explore the history and technology of the Internet.
- Demonstrate some popular Internet applications, such that electronic mail, discussion groups, and the World Wide Web (WWW).

You can, however, ask the instructor if you are stuck with a lab.

Please use Microsoft Word as the word processor for this lab. You can use a user guide and/or built-in help in MS-Word to complete this lab and Assignment 2. Also read a mini-howto on pages 30-31 in the textbook.

Please use Microsoft Excel as the spreadsheet for this lab. You can refer to online tutorial or to built-in help in MS-Excel to complete this lab and Assignment 2.

Please use the program Paint for this lab. This program can be found under Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Paint. Paint is a part of the standard Windows package.
