MATH 241: Calculus and Analytic Geometry II

Course Features

Online Gradebook

All your current scores will be send to you by email and also posted online so you can always check them with your password by clicking the Gradebook button. You will be able to check online only your scores. However, you will be provided a class statistics for each problem in the homework. This statistics should help you to figure out how good you are doing compared to other students in class.

Click on the Gradebook button to better understand how it works. Right now I put a fake student John Brown there (password: john) and a statistics for a sample class. All these sample scores will be replaced with the actual ones as soon as the first assignment will be graded. Enter John's last name and password to enter the Gradebook.

Final Grade Estimator

Students often ask: "what would be my final grade if I keep working the way I am working now, or if I would get a "B" on the final exam, or if ..."

It is difficult to answer such questions because the final grade cannot be computed without having the scores for all three exams. However, you know the formula for computing the grade and can estimate your grade by using the tool and entering the scores for not yet given exams that you think you might get. I will use the same tool for computing your grade at the end of this class.

You can access the tool from the online Gradebook, containing your scores. At the bottom of this page you will see a button "Estimate my final grade". Clicking on the button you will get a "blue" table containing your current scores. You can enter the missing (predicted) scores and click on the "Compute Grade" button. This will predict your final score and the grade for this class.

This tool can help you to estimate your chances for the desired grade in this class. I hope you understand that the missing scores you enter for the estimation might differ from the actual scores you will get after grading the corresponding exams/assignments.

Online Guestbook

This tool is intended for leaving an anonymous message related to this course. Although the Guestbook access is password protected, this password is the same for the entire class, so there is no chance to establish one's identity. Use this tool if you want to submit an anonymous message or ask a question anonymously.

Settings

This tool is intended for adjusting the system to match your preferences. There you can provide your email address for the communication, select what kind of messages you will get by email, or change your password. Try to login by using John Brown's last name and password (john). Do not modify his password to let all other students in this class get to know this tool.
