LC-meter

This was my last weekend project, which I needed to complete urgently. The LC-meter design is based on a front-page article in Everyday Practical Electronics magazine, no. 3, 2010. A similar project is also published here. Assembled for a very occasional usage, I did not put it into a case.

Well, it works, but I have some issues with it and plan making time to improve this design. It was not clear how much current does it draw, and it turned out to be about 6 mA. So, it is convenient to power it from a 9 V block battery, which is mounted as shown below. The second display row is used for outputting messages during calibration.

I modified the layout a bit which resulted in a smaller PCB. Otherwise, no changes including the code. Just download it from the magazine website and burn it in. Works from the first try! Since the battery holder was added later, no holes for it are shown on the PCB drawing.
