Study Guide for Midterm Exam I

Please give a particular attention to the following topics:

• Module 1:
  • Main contributions of the pioneers of Computer Science (Section 1.2)
  • Main inventions done by the pioneers (Sections 1.2 - 1.3)
  • Computer generations and their features (Section 1.4)

• Modules 2 and 3 are irrelevant for the exam.

• Module 4:
  • Text and background colors, fonts types and styles, entities, subscripts and superscripts (Sections 4.3 - 4.4)
  • Hyperlinks and image placement (Section 4.4)
  • List programming (list types, list bullets) (Section 4.5)
  • Tables (color schemes, spanning rows/columns, captions, nested tables) (Section 4.5)

The exam will consist of 4 problems, each worth 25 points. It will be linked from the Course Outline webpage. You will have two days to complete it and submit your solutions before 11:59pm of the second exam day. No late submissions are accepted. Solutions will be posted about one day after the exam.
